Questions people ask before signing up
How accurate is the transcription?+
Very good on clear speech in a quiet room, and still solid with music or street noise. The editor exists for the two or three words per minute it gets wrong: click, retype, done.
Does it work with Hindi, Urdu or mixed Hinglish?+
Yes. Detection picks the dominant language; you can override it before transcription starts. Devanagari, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Gurmukhi and Arabic script get fonts that render properly, both in the preview and in the exported video.
Is there a watermark on free exports?+
No. Free exports are 720p and limited to ten minutes of video a month, but they are clean.
Can I use my own subtitle file?+
Upload an SRT or VTT and skip transcription entirely. You can also paste a script and align it by hand.
Where do my videos go?+
They stay on the PutCaption server you upload to. Only the audio is sent to the speech-to-text service to be transcribed, and exports are generated on our own machines.
